Fulcrum Biometrics to Sell SMUFS Biometrics Mobile Fingerprint Scanners

Fulcrum Biometrics signed a global distribution agreement to sell SMUFS Biometric Solutions (SBS) range of compact mobile FIPS 201/PIV Bluetooth and wireless fingerprint scanners.

Fulcrum Biometrics is developing FbF mobileOne Quickdock for iOS which allows users of Apple devices to connect a fingerprint reader directly to the device.

However, in cases where having the scanner attached to the device is not practical, SBS’s wireless technology enables unanchored fingerprint capture, ensuring that only the fingerprint reader is touched. by users.

“We saw a lot of interest in our mobileOne fingerprint scanners, so it was important for us to find an unanchored scanner that would meet our standards and be a perfect fit for our products and services,” said the president of Fulcrum Biometrics, Ken Nosker, President. “SBS fingerprint scanners fit the bill perfectly. Both Fulcrum and SBS are experiencing phenomenal growth in the field of mobile identification and we have invested a great deal of our resources in creating secure, fast and easy to use biometric solutions for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.

Both Bluetooth and Wifi SMUFS scanners are compatible with PCs, tablets and smartphones running iOS, Android and Windows.

The product line includes SMUFS BT RAW (Bluetooth) and SMUFS Wifi RAW, in which the fingerprint image in RAW format (grayscale) is processed to improve quality before being encrypted and sent to the host .

SMUFS BT WSQ and SMUFS Wifi WSQ ensure that the raw format fingerprint image is processed to increase quality and is then compressed to WSQ (FBI’s Wavelet Scalar Quantization) before being encrypted and sent to a host,

Finally, SMUFS BT Pro and SMUFS Wifi Pro can process the fingerprint image in RAW format to improve its quality. ISO/IEC 19794-2:2005 or ANSI/INCITS 378-2004 template format can be created according to application requirements before being encrypted and sent to a host.
