Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many have not had the opportunity to show their boarding passes on social media.

And it looks like they may never come back to it again, as the era of boarding passes may be coming to an end.

Airports Malaysia took to their Facebook page to showcase the new facial recognition biometric technology at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) which will make boarding passes unnecessary.

They wrote: “Your boarding pass may soon be a thing of the past with the implementation of biometric facial recognition technology at KLIA! We recently rolled out the first phase for select flights with satisfied passengers discovering their new travel experience. »

These new state-of-the-art facial recognition scanners are currently located at check-in, in the security area and at the gate for some flights.

“So, from now on, just scan your face at the touchpoints and go! Your journey has become smoother and hassle-free,” they added.
