The largest cybersecurity company has deployed an updated version of Hideez Enterprise Server, which allows password-less access with different types of FIDO authenticators.
Leading authentication solutions provider Hideez has announced the release of the updated 3.8.6 version of its Hideez Enterprise Server, which allows password-less access with different types of FIDO authenticators.
“The new functionality would allow corporate users to connect to web services and corporate applications using both external security keys and devices with built-in TPM and biometric sensors,” said Oleg Naumenko, CEO of Hideez Group.
A free demo Hideez FIDO Server for Business is available on the company’s website.
Hideez Enterprise Server is a FIDO2 / Webauthn server and SAML 2.0 Identity Provider (IdP) that ensures secure IAM in a large user, desktop and device environment.
It provides two-factor authentication with standard login / password entry and cross-platform / platform authenticator used as second factor based on FIDO U2F standard.
It offers passwordless authentication, which allows users’ passwords to be replaced with a cross-platform / platform authenticator.
It also provides authentication without a username when a FIDO authenticator replaces both login and password to verify the user’s identity.
Within the Hideez IAM Solution, the server allows corporate administrators to manage and track the two external authenticators such as Hideez 3 Key Where Hideez 4 Key and platform authenticators built into employee devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.). The server is approved as Citrix® Ready ™ and integrates with Citrix Gateway ™ products and SAP solutions.
According to Naumenko, the company’s IAM solution is compatible with existing enterprise infrastructure solutions and is a perfect complement to existing MFA, SSO, Enterprise Mobility Management, Cloud Solutions, IAM or PAM.
The company offers an easy-to-use, cost-effective IAM solution that can help organizations protect sensitive employee data and comply with modern security standards.
“Hideez Server can now be used to manage both external cross-platform authenticators and platform authenticators, whether they are macOS, iOS, Android, Windows, or Linux devices. Employees can use either an encrypted Hideez key protected by a PIN code or biometric data to securely verify their identity, ”Mr. Naumenko says.
FIDO2 / WebAuthn is a new open authentication standard supported by browsers and many big tech companies like Microsoft, Google, etc. The FIDO2 authentication process eliminates the traditional threats associated with using a username and password, replacing it with the passwordless login experience. The technology is based on public / private cryptography, allowing users to validate their identity without sharing a secret between the user and the platform. Supported web browsers include, but are not limited to, Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari.
“Our server is equipped with the latest FIDO2 authentication standard and offers secure cryptography-based authentication to enable a future without passwords and associated security risks,” Naumenko noted.
